Cluster Development Work

Shivalik Cluster, Saharnpur:
Organised beekeepers meet at IPT, Saharanpur and identified their problems in processing and quality assurance of honey. Out of them one entrepreneur was identified and advanced honey processing unit has been established there.

Wardha Cluster:
Technical support provided to the Pragati Bahuudesya Sanstha, Pulgaon in processing and quality assurance of honey.
Quality assurance and shelf life determination of medicated honey that was developed by Centre for Bee Development, Wardha.
Several awareness and training programmes organized in the Vidarbh region on quality control and preparation of value added food products in association with some NGOs like CARD, Amrawati, CSV, Wardha and Matrichhaya, Amrawati for Entrepreneurship development.

Jharkhand Cluster:
A workshop/training programme organised on quality control of oil and laundry soap at Tiril Ashram, Ranchi for cottage and small scale soap manufacturers.

Documentation
A document on organic food production, farm certification norms, Quality standards, nodal agencies in India and world Market etc. has been prepared in this section.

Fututre Thrust
Dissemination of technologies through various agencies like KVIC, NGOS etc. and providing Q A services to the rural entrepreneurs.
